A human being is a part of the whole called by us universe, a part limited in time and space. He experiences himself, his thoughts and feeling as something separated from the rest, a kind of optical delusion of his consciousness. This delusion is a kind of prison for us, restricting us to our personal desires and to affection for a few persons nearest to us. Today was the first really nice Saturday for us to go outside and work. Everyone in my class did really well. I think the nice weather lifted everyone’s spirits too. This is a view of the river near Indiana University – Purdue University Fort Wayne.

This is probably the last time I’ll draw Joel. He is leaving to work with Americorps. Because of the high unemployment in this area many young people must leave, enlist in the military or join the reserves. I’m glad he opted for Americorps. Best of luck Joel!
